This collection of files has multiple versions of a Honda XLV 750 R side cover.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THESE ARE EXPERIMENTAL. SOME FINISHING AND HAND WORK WILL BE REQUIRED TO MAKE A PERFECT PART.

The pictures of the actual printed part here were made of the printable version and these were printed using a home printer in a very rough setting. It is recommended to print with much thinner layers in an ABS or ASA material. After sanding and finishing you can make a perfectly smooth part.

All the files are in the .stl 3D file format. This is compatible with most 3D software and printers.

There is a single raw scan. This has not been cleaned and has multiple flaws that are corrected in the other files. The scan was made of a Left side cover. You can mirror it if you want a right side raw scan.

  • XLV750R-Side-Cover-Left-Raw-Scan.stl

In the raw scan you can see that one of the connectors of the original cover was welded/glued/repaired. This should not have any impact on te functionality of the part/scan.All Left/Right versions of parts are simply mirrored. These is no other difference.
  • XLV750R-Side-Cover-Cleaned-XXXX.stl

The Cleaned version is just a cleaned original scan. This is closest to the actual physical part.
  • XLV750R-Side-Cover-Simplified-XXXX.stl

USE THIS VERSION IF YOU HAVE A PRINTER BIG ENOUGH TO PRINT THE PART IN ONE GO!

The Simplified version has had the "connectors" made a bit more solid. The original structure is not needed when 3D printing and would actually weaken the part.
  • XLV750R-Side-Cover-Printable-XXXX-XXXX.stl

USE THESE FILES IF YOU HAVE A SMALLER 3D PRINTER.

The printable versions are cut into a Front and Rear part. This makes it so you can print in a standard size printer. You might be able to position the parts such that you can print both at the same time.

I did this in the pictures on the Gumroad here. They were printed in 20hrs on my little home printer.

You should be able to connect the parts using 4mm nuts and bolts.
